1. Old Bank Buildings For Sale: Why Are So Many Old Bank Buildings For Sale Right Now?
As part of the World Economic Forum’s Great Reset agenda, we are heading for a cashless society. As fewer people use banking services in-person, banks are moving online and physical locations are closing down. It is becoming easier to move money without ever seeing any paper currency. In the longer term, they are planning for fully controlled Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs). CBDCs may even bypass high street banks entirely.
All this has led to bank branches being used less and less. Banks are able to offer their services at lower cost by closing branches and insisting customers ring their call centres or use online banking. This has led to there being old bank buildings for sale across the UK.
2. Old Bank Buildings For Sale: Why Are Old Bank Buildings So Cheap?
Bank branches are let out on a commercial basis. This means that the rental income determines the value of the building. As banks are closing, and are less willing to pay high rents for the few buildings they retain, rents are low. That means the buildings themselves are cheap too!
This has led to smart property investors buying up these buildings at a discount. If a bank is still operating in the building, the new buyer isn’t likely to make that much from the rent. If the bank building is empty, they are unlikely to find another bank to rent it. But there is a way to make money from it…
3. Old Bank Buildings For Sale: How Can I Profit From All The Old Bank Buildings For Sale At The Moment?
If you buy an empty bank building, you can make a lot of money by turning the building into residential accommodation. Because of changes to the planning laws, this can often be done under permitted development rights. This means, in many cases, you won’t need to apply for full planning permission!
If there is still a bank in the building, you will need to wait. However, with bank branches closing fast, you might not need to wait all that long! If you can buy the building cheap enough, you will still make good cashflow in the meantime!
