Huddersfield lad launches property business and is already earning more than his teachers
Eighteen-year-old rugby player already earns enough to put his feet up but has raging ambition to do much more….
It is hard to believe that just a few months ago Huddersfield teenager Tom Grierson was still studying for his A levels.
While most people his age have only just started university, the 18-year-old is providing a roof over people's heads and already making enough through rents to put his feet up.
In addition to being a full-time property entrepreneur, he is also a semi-professional rugby player.

As one of the country's youngest property investors, Tom regularly rises at the crack of dawn to sniff out his next money-spinning deal.
He says he is already earning more than some of his former teachers at Greenhead College where he gained an A* in PE, an A in biology and a B in chemistry.
The former Heckmondwike Grammar School pupil has lived with his parents in Rastrick all his life.
His dad Chad was a policeman who set up a lettings agency 20 years ago with Tom's mum Ruth, a lecturer.
They are supportive though he has received no financial support from them to get started and is prepared to do whatever it takes to achieve his ambitions.
And his past life suggests he does more than talk a good game.
As a teenage swimmer, he competed in the British Championships and was in the top 20 swimmers for his age group.
He then took up rugby just four years ago and excelled in the second row. He played for Huddersfield Giants Academy, before recently signing a contract with Oldham Rugby League Football Club.
As a property investor, he has already implemented just about every creative method of making money from the housing market, bar development.
The teenager decided to become an entrepreneur after watching a series of YouTube property videos while on holiday in September 2020.
The videos featured Samuel Leeds, a self-made multi-millionaire who left school with nothing at 16 and bought his first house a year later.
The 31-year-old, who owns historic Ribbesford House in Worcestershire, has advised many celebrities including rap artist Krept, former Liverpool midfielder Kevin Stewart and ex-world champion football freestyler and BBC presenter Liv Cooke.
Tom says he was transfixed by Leeds’ videos. He said: “I binge-watched them all and realised you can do all different types of things to make money from property.”
He then booked himself on to a free online Property Investors Crash Course in February 2021. It lasted 10 hours and he says he was ‘glued’ to every single second of the stream.
It introduced him to strategies such as rent-to-rent, a technique he successfully implemented a fortnight later on a two-bedroom house in Huddersfield.
It was being advertised as a single let but he saw from the floorplan that it had a sitting room and a loft which could be converted into lettable rooms just by putting beds in them.
The rent payable to the landlord was £575 a month. Tom calculated he could get £1,500 per month by turning the house into a four-bed HMO.
