The first step is writing down what you want. While this may seem obvious, in many cases, people only have vague ideas of success. You need to be clear about what your goals actually are. Be as clear and as detailed as possible. Don’t write down what you think you should want, or what other people say you should want. Write down what you actually want, and be honest with yourself.
How To Get Rich From Nothing: Step 2: Identify Who Has What You Want
Now that you know exactly what you want, write down everyone that you know who could give you what you want. They may be friends and family, your wider community, leaders you could contact, etc. At this stage, don’t worry about whether they would be willing to give you the things you want. Only consider whether they could give you what you want, given the inclination.
How To Get Rich From Nothing: Step 3: Study People Who Have What You Want
Now you have a list of people that could give you what you want, you need to find out what they want. This may involve going to the business events and networking sessions they attend, and asking them! Ask them what their biggest challenges are right now and listen to their answers carefully.
How To Get Rich From Nothing: Step 4: Give Value To Those Who Can Help You
Once you understand their challenges, offer your assistance with the things you can help with. This may be only very simple tasks, if you haven’t got experience or training yet. Offer to help them for free, and show them your abilities without imposing on them or asking for anything in the short term.
How To Get Rich From Nothing: Step 5: Learn Skills That Rich People Want
Next, you need to learn the skills to really help your target audience. Attend training courses and learn the skills that will make you indispensable. Once you have learnt the skills you need, you can go back to the people you have helped. They will already know you do good work, and therefore will be open to being your first clients. If you can help them with their biggest problems, they will be willing to pay you handsomely. This is how you get rich!
