1. The Cheapest Properties On RightMove: Area Search!
When you first start using RightMove to find cheap properties, the easiest way to do it is to search for an area. This could be an area near you or an area you have chosen to invest in. If you are looking for the cheapest properties on RightMove, these are often found in the Midlands and the North.
Search for an area, but increase the mile radius in the search options. This gives you the best chance of finding awesome deals. Compare sold property prices on the same, or nearby, streets to identify possible bargains.
2. The Cheapest Properties On RightMove: Map Search!
Another way to search on RightMove is via the map option. This gives you a lot more flexibility compared to searching an area. With map search you can draw a box over the area you want to search, and it will show you all the properties for sale in that box. You can make the box as big or small as you like, you can even search the entire country if you wish!
If you want to find the absolute lowest price property out there, or you are unsure what area you want to invest in, doing a very wide search using the map can be useful. On the other hand, if you have a very specific area you want to look at, the map can be helpful for that too!
3. The Cheapest Properties On RightMove: Auction Property!
When you sort by cheapest properties, you will find that the first results are normally auction properties. This is because they are often listed with a low guide price, which isn’t actually the price they are likely to sell for. These listings are normally labelled with the words “guide price”, although occasionally non-auction properties also have that label.
If you see auction properties that you like, you can consider making a pre-auction offer. Call the agent and ask if the seller might be open to this. This can be a great way to secure below market value (BMV) deals, because many auction vendors simply want a quick sale!
