Recently, there was a last minute interclub opportunity at MMA Den in Battersea, London. It felt great to step back in the ring and prove myself again. You can watch the full video of the fight above. If you want to see my progress, I highly recommend watching the video until the end.
Millionaire Mindset Lessons:
1. Networking And Teamwork
Boxers have to build a network in order to succeed. Boxers work with sparring partners, support teams, promoters and trainers. Going it alone isn’t an option. If you want success in the boxing world, you need to know how to work with a team. If you can work well with other people, your probability of success rises dramatically.
The same is true in business. There is no such thing as a totally ‘self-made’ man. You need to know how to work with others and understand the business of dealing with people. If you want to be a millionaire, you need a collaborative mindset. Learn to understand people and how you can add value to their lives, the rewards will be tenfold!
2. Self-Belief
When you first start out in boxing, you will fail a lot! It would be easy to become unmotivated, or even give up entirely. You need to have self-belief to keep going and press through the hard times. You need to know that you can succeed in the end. You need to know you can get better. You need to know that you are not wasting your time and effort. That knowledge only comes from within.
Similarly, in business, when you start out things will be hard. People will tell you that you are wasting your time. People will say that you should focus on a career with ‘job security’. People will laugh at you and mock your efforts. Only through your own self-belief can you push through and succeed!
3. Risk-Taking
In boxing, it is essential that you take calculated risks. You can’t just defend and never attack, if you do, you will lose! Over time, you learn how to know when a risk is worth taking and when you should be more risk-averse. These calculations are made fast, and you need a quick and agile mind in order to make them.
In the business world, risk-taking is equally important. Just like in boxing, you need to be able to think fast and not procrastinate. The way I assess risk is to look at the best, worst and likely case. If the reasonable worst case isn’t too bad; the likely case is good; and the best case is excellent, then that is a risk worth taking!
